Managing Your Wellness in 2021 With CBD

At the start of a new year, many of us tend to set new wellness goals, adopt new routines, and try a variety of means to improve our health. We wanted to share a few studies that suggest how adding CBD to your routine can help you tackle those new year goals.

STRESS & ANXIETY

Relieving stress and anxiety is sometimes a daily struggle, and research shows that “a single dose of CBD can reduce the anxiety-enhancing effect.” A lot of times this anxiety can be caused by social interactions and adjustments to daily life. In the same study, CBD has even been found to help relieve the anxiety experienced from public speaking. Even further, it can alleviate the anxiety created from PTSD, OCD, and SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) in certain regions of the brain. It has the potential to interact with receptors in the brain to treat anxiety disorders. This study created simulated stressful environments to follow participant responses, and they showed it, “reduced anxiety-like behavior” as they were able to cope within this environment.

Additional research from this study analyzes how CBD affects endocannabinoid receptors and serotonin levels in the brain, which can control  mood, anxiety, stress, and energy levels.

INFLAMMATION & ARTHRITIS

In addition to the natural anti-inflammatory properties of curcumin, CBD also contains properties within the cannabinoids that affect the body as well. In this study, “daily oral (5 mg/kg) or intraperitoneal (25 mg/kg) administration of CBD inhibited disease progression" in arthritis. It also stated that, "CBD is the major non psychoactive component of the cannabis plant and its protective effect has been shown in murine collagen-induced arthritis." Another study reported that CBD "provided a clear correlation between the anti‐inflammatory and anti‐nociceptive responses and the dose, with increasing responses upon increasing doses, which makes this plant medicine ideal for clinical uses."

It was also interesting that the study looked at different methods of using CBD including via topical creams, gels,or patches, or ingested with a capsule or liquid tincture. It found that, "a correlative anti inflammatory and anti-pain dose-response could be achieved when applied either intraperitoneally or orally."

With the supporting studies and different means of using CBD, we hope the above helps you develop your healthy, new year routine, to help your mind and body achieve optimal functionality. A daily dose of millie CBD contains our proprietary water soluble phytocannabinoid-rich hemp oil, which provides a higher level of bioavailability, where CBD is more readily absorbed into the body. You can view all of the topical and oral methods of consumption here.
